Interesting but quite predictable. I really admired the depiction of a character like Sadie, somebody blighted and broken irreparably by trauma, but the rest was standard-issue crime podcast pulp.

Okay wow. This made me actually cry at the end which is why I instantly have to say you should read it. I recommend the audiobook over the paperback but both are great!

Look for trigger warning and please know this isn’t a happy ending but a realistic and heart-wrenching one but that is all I can say.

2.5 rounded up… I was excited for this one and it got a ton of great reviews, but it just couldn’t hold my attention. I listened to the audiobook so I might have to try again with the actual book, because I also didn’t like the voice actors
