I really really loved miles development but I still really hated Miles. I understand why he was as shitty cause of the twist but I feel like it's not much of an excuse.

Overall I enjoyed this book. I wish we would have gotten more Present days POV from Miles. The sexism also bothered me at times. But overall it was a good take on a trope that is done often.

I was almost not going to read this book because of the infamous quote “We both laugh at our son’s big balls” but I decided to give it a try. At first I found it a bit bland and boring, but halfway through it became more interesting and picked up the pace. I found Tate frustrating at times because she was such a doormats to Miles and just kept giving in when he was hurting her, like it felt she had no self-respect for herself. But I’m glad Miles FINALLY reciprocated her feelings in the end.

What I love about this is the closure Miles got with Rachel and how he was finally able to move on seeing how happy she was. That “I’m proud of you” really warmed my heart and I’m glad they got that.

The issue I have with this book is the writing style in Miles POV. It felt like a middle school romance when he was talking about his attraction to Rachel. And the words randomly going towards the middle of the able, or the random capital letters and bold got on my nerves and it looked very childish. But I’m happy I got there in the end.

Colleen Hoover is a great story teller. I've read enough of her books to know it and to keep reading everything that she writes. With that being said I did not fell in love with this story as I usually do.

Tell me you live a very toxic relationship without telling me that you live a very toxic relationship. This is the story behind Ugly Love. I understand Miles tragic past and in no way, shape or form I'm undermining the pain that something like that must change your life forever... and I also know that he defined pretty simples rules... but he is just a very idiot of a man. And Tate is a woman that can't stand up for herself and that annoys me. No man in this world is that good looking or that good in bed to make her endure such things.  Tate is a cliche of a woman that sees a broken man and wants to help him, change him... Girl, he told you exactly how things would happen and you got mad when things happened the ways he told you they would.

Ugly Love indeed.

To whoever reads this book, please do NOT ever let anyome treat you like this. This is the second CoHo book I've read and I'm getting really sick of her romanticizing toxic relationships.

What I liked:
🛩️ Cap made this book
🛩️ Fast-paced
🛩️ Family drama / decent backstory for Miles

What I didn't like:
🔻 Miles treats Tate like a doormat
🔻Tate bends to Miles' will
🔻Mike's has a good backstory but NO personality
🔻THE ENDING 😡 like after all that, why?!
🔻Writing style (a good portion of this book is written like poetry, it's very random)
🔻"Say ox" 🤢 and how many times CoHo used the word liquid

ehhhh i found the writing pretty weird. it read like someone writing in their diary which is fine if that’s the layout and plan but it really didn’t feel that way. the poetry thing really made so since and it wasn’t even like it was good poetry or useful to the story in any way?? i honestly like miles and rachel better than miles and tate but i can’t say that i even like miles. the actual story was pretty good but i guessed what was gonna happen sooo early on that i didn’t feel any emotional gut punch or cry it just happened and then it was over.
i don’t like the idea that you put up with getting treated like nothing just because a guy is hot and gives you good orgasms.
the story did pull me in and i enjoyed some of it but most of it i was either rolling my eyes or prettttty bored.
