3.5 j’ai bien aimé l’histoire mais les codes du livre suivent un peu trop à mon goût la fantasy classique mais j’ai tout de même très hâte de lire la suite !
Fast moving and written engagingly, with the he twists and turns that Nielsen does well with. However, there was a big chunk where they were just traveling and having the same argument over and over again for about five chapters that seemed redundant and didn’t further the story much. For that I’m knocking it down to four stars.
Ugggghhhh Stockholm Syndrome so not sexy. Book is nonsense.

A pretty solid YA fantasy. Had actual enemies to lovers, not the cheap “hate to love” that’s really “mild annoyance while still being attracted to each other to love” that’s so popular these days, though I do wish it’d been a slower burn. The plot was pretty classic YA, and kept me engaged.

I love her other books, but this one was disappointing The writing was so choppy. I did not get the plot at all it lacked detail and emotion.

Lukewarm beginning that came together nicely in the end.
Ah yes, another mediocrely written fantasy romance that pulled me in completely. What is it about these books that enthrall me so? Maybe we’ll never know
