Not sure what I expected but it was not that. Do not recommend, the whole thing was just strange.

This book was both exactly what I thought it would be, and not, all at the same time.

The book was a great look at the hardships and horrors of motherhood and how it transforms women. As someone who has not had children I still felt like I could connect with the narrative.

It got a little too ephemeral for me at the end. I think
her reclaiming her identity as an artist, and as someone part of the collective, instead of an individual mother against the world was great, but it also disconnected the narrative a bit for me. I also felt like the husband was a weird cardboard cut out of a man that just was there? He never really moved the narrative along besides being someone she was funnelling her rage at.

Overall, the book was good but I don’t think it’s something I will be coming back to.

Wow fucking wow. Ok I think I’ve found my favourite book of the year, if something tops this I’ll eat my words.

And interesting read. Honestly I feel.tge whole thing could have been shown in a true art exhibition. The "show" at the end toes all the themes together well enough. Not a long read, yet I feel it was to long. I did like the writing style and how it seemed to show the MC's stream of consciousness

I am not sure what I expected this book to be; something about how difficult it is to go from a career mom to a stay at home mom? Ultimately, I think that it does capture that narrative but boy, it went places I did not expect. There was a sense of shock and discomfort at some points. The characters are only relatable as mother, husband and son. I think that the anonymity helped to related, or see yourself in the mother. She could be any of us. Overall I think that its a Rollercoaster ride of a Mother's journey to find herself again after being thrust into mother hood. Its raw and its hard. But you see the mother mentally and physically breakdown onl  to transform into her most organic self.
