I really enjoyed this book and learning about the special bond between the 2 authors and their families. Walker Hayes is one of my favorite country singers, so to learn how he struggled and nearly gave up on his dream was really interesting. His story is filled with emotional and physical challenges including alcoholism and the death of their baby.
While there was a lot of sadness, there was also a lot of hope and joy intertwined. The strong friendships forged between the authors, their wives, and their children is inspiring. Craig was influential in Walker leaving his atheistic beliefs and accepting Jesus. To hear how Walker's heart changed over the course of a few years and how his career took off was uplifting.
This book has all the emotions - despair, joy, hope, love, sadness, etc. I highly recommend for anyone who is a fan of Walker or who enjoys hearing others' testimonies. And I definitely recommend listening to the audiobook, which was narrated by both authors.

I loved reading this and learning more about Walker Hayes (and his friend, Craig). Like so many, I learned of Walker Hayes and his country music during the pandemic, when his song, Fancy Like, went viral thanks to the cutest TikTok dance he does with his oldest daughter. Following him on Instagram, you’re under the impression that he has this perfect life - extremely good-looking, famous, living the dream with his perfect wife and six kids. Reading this was extremely insightful and made me respect him so much more - he’s hustled for so long to get where he is, battling several difficulties along the way (alcoholism, stillbirth, years of “not making it”). So happy to see his successes. I gave this four, rather than five, stars because it does come across rather preachy at points. Otherwise, it’s a solid read - especially if you’re already a fan of Walker Hayes!
Glad You’re Here is a fantastic, simply-written story about how God can use an ordinary, committed friendship to move in miraculous ways. Although the writing styles of Walker Hayes and Craig Allen Cooper differ, the styles complement each other. Glad You’re Here captures stories from their friendship and readers benefit from reading each story through both Hayes’ and Cooper’s perspectives. This format highlights the unique lessons, challenges, and blessings for each man. The stories told in Glad You’re Here touch on themes that readers could relate to, including alcoholism, career failure, loss of a child, generosity, friendship, financial struggles, faith and more. Glad You’re Here is an inspiring book and will encourage readers to live faithful lives that minister to others, even if in ordinary ways.

The honestly displayed in this book was so refreshing. Such a clear gospel message and through all the heartbreak and hard stuff touched on, you get a happily ever after vibe still.

This was such a great book, being able to read Walker’s journey to finding Jesus Christ. His friendship/how much he had in common with Craig, even though they were complete opposites in the beginning. (Both moving to Nashville, chasing dreams before being each other. Walker wanting to be a musician, Craig wanting to be a preacher). How Craig spreader unconditional love to the Hayes family in their hardest times, through Walkers addictions, and Oakleigh’s death. How Their dogs were actual sisters. How they eventually moved right next door to each other And tore down the fence between their houses. It shows how much Jesus can do for them, and everyone. I wanna thank Walker and Craig for writing this book, as I feel more connected to Christianity and importantly our Heavenly Father.

I absolutely SOBBED the entire time I was reading this book. I already knew that I loved Walker. I've listened to his music for YEARS and we even danced to "Fancy Like" at my sister's wedding.
I had no idea that this book existed until about a year ago when my grandma came to me and said, "Kayla, I know you like Walker Hayes because there's no way someone could dislike him. But you need to read the book he released last year. I read it in one afternoon and I would read it again."
The first thing I thought after she said this was, "How in the world did you manage to read a book? You can't see anything!" But she did read it and she has likely read it many times since she told me about it. I knew there was no way I wasn't going to read this book after she said that.
As an avid reader, I recommend books a lot. I usually base recommendations on what that particular person likes to read. Not with this book, though. Everybody I know, reader or not, will be hearing about this book. Walker and Craig really make you feel like part of their families and that they're "Glad You're Here."

This book is based off the song “Craig” by Walker Hayes. I’ve always loved that song and Walker’s music, so I was looking forward to reading this one, and it definitely lived up to my expectations.
It showed Walker and Craig’s experiences in moving, their (unlikely) friendship, and Walker’s faith journey. I actually loved that he didn’t focus on hitting top of the charts and becoming a huge country artist. Honestly, by reading this book, you might not even realize that he did make it as a big singer.
If you’re looking for a short, encouraging read; this is a good one!
TW: alcoholism, infant loss
“God often chooses the depleted, the ones who’ve run out of their own energy, to blaze a trail for others in order to make it clear to everyone that He is the strength we all need.”
