Ugh she did it again! I found myself bawling at 2am trying to wrap this up. When Julian just kept saying “you bought me gloves” I felt that ish deeply. When Deacon was so shattered and torn having “made” Julian choose between him and his family, I broke for him! The way Marley writes about love, ugh… it’s pure, it’s raw, it’s gut wrenching, and it’s perfect each and every time.

This story was a beautiful love story born from loss and grief.A story about how two men who lost their loved one,took care of each other,loved each other and stopped each other from sinking into the pit of despair,sadness and loneliness.
Deacon and Julian were two grieving souls who found each other at the right time and place.They cared and protected each other from external hurt,they healed each other in a way and brought happiness back into their lives.Their story was about healing,love,friendship and finally letting go of the past and walking into the future with hope and excitement.
I was happy Julian finally got the chance to persue his dreams and goals in life,after putting his life on pause to be there for the person he loves,nobody deserves to go after what they want and deserve more than him.

5/24/2023 I've already read and loved this book but I love Tim Paige from listening to Ellis James's Wrath and I needed something to listen to. I really really loved this. Tim Paige and Teddy Hamilton did a fantastic job with Julian and Deacon, taking an already amazing book to another level.

This was an emotional and raw experience that I didn't quite expect from this book. If you have access to the audiobook, I HIGHLY recommend it!
I think the author did a fantastic job showing us the good feels and fun times, but she didn't shy away from bad and the ugly parts. That's not something I've seen a lot in the MM Romance-verse, and I ate that shit up!
There's a lot of heart in this book, and I think it leaves you in a better way than it finds you when you start reading.
I didn't particularly care for the epilogue, and it was a bit on the nose, but it was still a 5/5 read.

Kindle/audiobook (audible) - what a sad and heart wrenching story of loss and allowing family to walk all over you instead of rocking the boat. Glad they end hea and Devan’s father apologizes for allowing his wife to berate their son all these years instead of standing up to her on his behalf.
