Without You

One thing about me is that I love books that have finding love after grieving, i would always avoid them but then I came to love them. The moment I read the synopsis I knew I just had to pick this one up, brother’s ex boyfriend. I went in blind not reading any reviews but it’s a mix of some loving it & others absolutely hating it which I get their points as to why they disliked it. it’s a fast paced whirlwind of a romance, cheesy( but sometimes it’s nice to read books like this, well in my opinion) another reason was that “Im only attracted to you” comment, I know maybe the author could have gone with Deacon still figuring himself out without labeling his sexuality due to it being all new so I was disappointed with those comments but I’m giving it 4 stars because I loved how Deacon & Julian were so cute, Oh, Deacon, I just wanted to hug him, I’ve known/ seen mothers like Deacons and it broke my heart reading how he thought he was never enough but he finally had someone in his corner assuring him that he was everything & deserved all the happiness in the world, their romance was the sweetest, I just wanted more angst, yearning, a little more tears. I can’t wait to start the novella and hoping to see more development of their relationship and of each of them.

Favorite quotes:

“All those missing pieces were no longer missing, because I’d found them in Julian.”

“While he was ultimately the Deacon I always knew, the man in front of me is the one I’m falling in love with.”

“Are you listening to me? I will not stand by her ruining him.”

“From the boy who lost his way, not once, not twice, but three times, I finally feel like I’m home.”

“You’re the beat of my heart, the blood in my veins, the strength in my bones. None of me works without you. And if you need me to tell you every fucking day for the rest of our lives, then I will, because you are more than enough. You’re everything.”

“You are not less than or undeserving of anything, Deacon Sutton. You deserve to be happy, and you deserve to feel whole, and I won’t let anyone, not even your mom, take this away from us.”

I don’t even know how to put into words how much this book touched me. It’s one of those stories that stays in your chest long after you’ve finished, because the characters feel so real and so deserving of love. The relationships—both romantic and familial—are written with such honesty, flaws and all, and it made everything feel even more powerful. It’s emotional, it’s tender, it’s messy in the most human way, and it left me with my heart full. Honestly, I just love this book so much.

Literal Perfection!

“You bought me gloves. YOU. BOUGHT. ME. GLOVES.”

This was a good book. I loved the angst and Deacon. I can’t believe Julian didn’t read the letters I’m shook! I’m assuming deacon did read his since it was read in the second to last chapter to the reader. Elaine sounds like a total twat. I was worried bc the reviews were kinda bad, but I loved this story.

All the stars
