White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout is EVERYTHING I was looking for in a YA paranormal romance, and then some. From the first page to the last, I was completely hooked. If you’re into swoon-worthy romance, action-packed scenes, and characters that you’ll be thinking about long after you finish the book, this is definitely one you need to pick up.

Layla, the main character, was such a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t expecting her to be as complex and strong as she turned out to be. At the start, she’s a little unsure of herself, struggling with her half-demon nature and feeling like she doesn’t quite belong. But as the story unfolds, we see her grow into a total badass. I loved her wit, her determination, and how she fiercely protected the people she cares about, even when things got tough. Layla’s inner strength is so inspiring, and I couldn’t help but root for her every step of the way.

Now, let’s talk about the romance, because WOW. Zayne and Roth both brought their own kind of heat to the story, and I was obsessed with the love triangle that develops between them. Zayne, the swoon-worthy, loyal, and serious guy is all about duty and responsibility. Then there’s Roth—mysterious, charming, and downright irresistible. The chemistry between Layla and both of them is so intense and undeniable. I was literally torn between the two, and it was such a fun ride trying to figure out who Layla was going to choose. The tension between all three characters is palpable, and there are so many swoon-worthy moments that will leave you blushing.

The world-building in White Hot Kiss is fantastic. The author does an amazing job of blending the supernatural elements with the real world in a way that feels completely believable. The demons, the powers, and the rules of this universe are all so intricately designed, and you can tell a lot of thought went into creating this world. The idea of “Wardens” (the demon hunters) and the way demons interact with humans is unique and kept me totally engaged. It’s clear that there’s so much more to explore in this world, and I can’t wait to see how it unfolds in the next books.

The plot itself is fast-paced, with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. There’s a perfect balance between action, romance, and character development. I was never bored, and just when I thought I had figured everything out, something new would happen, and I’d be hooked again. The stakes are high, and there’s this constant feeling of danger and uncertainty, which makes for an exciting read. I loved how the tension built throughout the book, and when the action scenes hit, they were intense and thrilling.

One of the things I really appreciated was the character development. Each character, even the side characters, felt well-rounded and real. Layla’s journey of self-discovery, her struggle to accept who she is, and her eventual growth into her powers was so satisfying to read. And the secondary characters like Bri and Tristan were also fun to get to know—they added a lot of humor and heart to the story.

In conclusion, White Hot Kiss is an absolutely addictive read that had me hooked from the first chapter. With a fantastic heroine, a swoon-worthy love triangle, an intriguing world, and action that kept me on the edge of my seat, it’s everything I want in a paranormal romance. Jennifer L. Armentrout has done it again, and I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the The Dark Elements series. If you love paranormal romance with tons of heart, this book is definitely for you. I’m giving it 5 stars because it’s just that good.

Not interesting enough and no longer available

I love how my reading list is all over the place. This is a pg-13 fantasy series. Gives me Vampire Diaries vibes (only not vampires… more demons and wardens). I said I like it; I didn’t say it was good 😂

OH MY GOD!!! Just Jennifer L Armentrout, why do you have to do this to my heart like all the fangirl feels! My heart is on the floor and I'm just sitting here like, "now what am I supposed to??" I just want my own personal Roth....is that too much to ask?
