SUPER, SUPER hard to read... but mine had a cliff-notes style section before each part and a billion footnotes, so it was a good read... but still work to read. Great book. If you have the mind, read it.

While I don't subscribe to or agree with the religious zeal here, I am in awe of how visual and grotesque The Divine Comedy is. As a horror writer and a horror fan, that is of particular interest to me. I was also impressed by how modern this felt at times, both in terms of the emotional response it attempts to elicit and the way certain things are described (in "Inferno" this feels particularly relevant).
