Absolutely stunning writing.

"Grief is a cruel kind of education. You learn how ungentle mourning can be, how full of anger. You learn how glib condolences can feel. You learn how much grief is about language, the failure of language and the grasping for language."

Short and interesting essay about grief! I haven't really been through the same as both my parents are a live and my grandparents died before or shortly after I was born, but I could see people finding comfort and consolation in this book

[tw: death of a parent] Notes of Grief was a really touching tribute and series of essays from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie about her late father, Prof. James Nwoye Adichie, who passed away in June 2020. She is able to beautifully capture the trauma of grief, the things that made her father uniquely himself, and the treasured moments between you and your loved one who has passed on, no matter how small they may be.

I highly recommend consuming this is audio format, as Chimamanda's voice is really captivating. I could listen to her read the dictionary.
