This was no Miles High Club. Both main characters consistently bothered me. I am all in for an alpha, possessive male but Henley was too much of an asshole to get on board with. Meanwhile, Juliet irked me when she kept chasing after Henley and playing so many mind games. She seemed too childish for her age and profession (successful nurse). I did love the small community of neighbors and am open to trying the next book in the series!

What to expect:
-One night stand to enemies to lovers
-Second chance
-Alpha male
-Neighbors
-Broken hero
-Spice on spice

An entertaining work in progress

I am absolutely addicted to this new world of Kingston Lane!

Whenever I pick up a book from T, I can't put it down. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book, and now that release day is finally here, I've already read the book 3 times *shrug*

Juliet Drinkwater is your all-around good girl, looking for her happily ever after. Henley James is a billionaire playboy with a playbook that will make your jaw drop. These two crash together, and it's explosive, but in the next few days, things don't look so great. Jump ahead 3 years, and Juliet is buying her dream house (well, it may be a fixer upper, but she sees the potential), but guess who is her neighbor??! None other than Mr. Henley James, and let the craziness begin.

This book has everything...found family, nosey neighborhood watch, mischief puppies, laughable moments, and steamy scenes that will fog your glasses (if you're wearing some)! I had so many moments where I just wanted to slap Henley so hard (who makes impromptu visits for guests he doesn't like?!), he may be caused some one-handed chapters (IYKYK!), but his pure unsure moments (is anything sexier than vulnerability on a man!?) those are where I fell in love with Mr. James.

Just fair warning, it's addictive and if we know anything, so are the books to come.

Almost DNF. While on one hand I appreciated how Juliet understood Henley’s mental health issues and helped him work through them, I felt like most of the time he was controlling. Almost to the point of being emotionally abusive. Then there were a couple of plot points that never got resolved. I’ve read other works by this author and enjoyed them but this one wasn’t for me.

Pretty disappointed in this book actually. I was all for the angsty small town neighbourhood vibes and I just got… children. No spoilers, I guess.

The plot - so this is like a second chance enemies to lovers story, with forced proximity (they can’t stay away from each other) and just a whole load of toxicity. Look I get it, you both have shit to deal with, you’ve both lied. But this is fuckin ridiculous. 80% of the book was them pining for the other and then saying “yeah well he/she is a dick anyway, so fuck them.” HUH??? QUE??? WHAT??? Make it make sense, because it didn’t. I don’t know, it’s a HEA anyway, series of interconnected standalones. Smut was a 2.5/5 on the spice scale, WHERE WAS THE SEX SWING? Disappointed.

The MC - fuckin Juliet. Your name is accurate, because this story was fuckin tragic. You got walked over hun, big time. You were a door stop, a pushover, and every time you said you were done, you hopped right back in. Your heartbreak is of your own making, and I resented you for it the whole time.

The male counterpart - I liked the name Henley. Shame that the man himself is a dick. YOU DIDN’T GROVEL? LIKE AT ALL? Fuckin ridiculous. Imma have to write a book because these book boyfriends ain’t shit and I know I can write a better one. Fuck this guy.

Ugh I was so excited to read this one and was really looking forward to a new release from T L Swan but this was one was sadly a real let down. I felt like the characters where all over the place and even though the book was over 400 pages the storyline was really rushed.

Both characters felt incredibly immature and the female main character just came across as really desperate. Hoping the next release is better!
