Too many creepy crawlies in this book. Yuk. The stories were just boring and dull. Ryder was ok, I'll try the next to see if it's any good.
I HATED the narrator. His voice drove me nuts.

This is the first book of hers I've read and I thought it was fantastic! I could not stop reading it, I had to know what was going to happen next. The fact it has rescue dogs getting trained to be sniffer dogs or other working dogs in it only makes it better. I'm looking forward to reading the rest in the Ryder Creed series.

2.5 interesting but to tied into other books. felt like I was missing something
“The runt of the litter, of course.” Jason’s eyes lit up as he pointed to the box at Creed’s feet “To Kill a Mockingbird’s one of my favourite books. Already pick out Scout for the name.”
“From what I remember, the runt of this litter is a boy.”
“I figure he doesn’t need to know he’s named after a girl.”
I’m so glad I’ve picked up a Kava book again. I’ve forgotten how much I enjoy O’Dell and now adding Creed and his dogs… This might be my knew favourite series.
The fast pace and new characters made want more as soon as I’ve closed this book. Lucky for me we live in an instant gratification era where I could just add them instantly via e-books.
On to the next one.

Decent enough story to make me continue the series. I like the Ryder Creed character and the crew that surrounds him to keep moving along the rest of the books. The biggest thing that prevents me from saying this was "really good" is that the ending fell flat. What drives me nuts the most about this one is that the assassin is so sinister and sneaky (he basically drives the entire story) through 95% of the book, he just simple gets "caught" like an episode of Scooby Doo. He would've gotten away with it if it wasn't for these meddling kids and their dogs! Hopefully this gets better through the series and we see how characters fit into the mix of things.

Great start to the series especially with Maggie on board
I enjoyed this and I think I will like the series. However I 'm not sure about having it as a spin of of the Maggie O'Dell series because I LOVE Maggie and I wanted more of her, or her and Ryder together and this kind of distracted me from getting to know the new characters and I kind of resented Maggie not being the star. I also know I am probably going feel the same about the next book and spend a good portion of it waiting for Maggie to show up and I will be disappointed if she doesn't. I think it would have worked much better with a completely new cast of characters not set in Maggie's world at all.
