Radical Compassion: Learning to Love Yourself and Your World with the Practice of RAIN by Tara Brach

It was a lot of what I already knew. And the book was very repetitive.

Sometimes books about self compassion lose me and I can't focus. But this one did a good job of mixing in steps and meditations, plus personal stories and experiences. I liked the format and I loved the content. It's helped me a lot over the last few weeks practice self compassion. I'm impressed at how often it has been thinking about my thoughts and "investigating" where they are in my body The steps are clear and easy to remember. I love "nurture" - I come back to that step often and it's been very effective for me.

Such an amazing practice. I don't think you need to read the entire book, as it turns into a lot of examples of the same tool taught in the first part. The first few examples are useful but then you'll get the hang of it. But I use the RAIN meditation every day and am so grateful I learned it from this book. Great for anyone who struggles with anxiety or shame.
