Alexei

I've wanted Alexei's story ever since I read Den of Sin and Eva did not disappoint. I knew our tattooed assassin was broken as we've had glimpses of his past throughout several of the B&M books, but finally seeing everything he'd gone through because of his half siblings mother and the degenerate Ivan Petrov was intense.

It's been 20 years since his escape and Ivan is threatening his family for Alexei's perceived sins, but Agent Aurora Ashford is a distraction and the in he needs to bring Ivan down. The thing about Aurora, he's got history with the FBI profiler, she just doesn't remember yet.

Alexei and Aurora were an explosion waiting to happen. Alexei didn't feel, but she made him feel things, she made him possessive and insane. Aurora was an FBI agent and she was not about to work with a criminal, especially one who made her feel things with that icy stare. In true B&M fashion, we get all the heat, all the action, all the broken hero/heroine, an unexpected twist or two and it's a book you don't put down until the very end. I'm ready for Raphael's book. If you haven't gotten on the Belles and Mobsters train, I recommend you catch up.

I’ve loved this series so far but Alexei has stolen my heart the things he went through at the hands of evil people was heartbreaking . Even when he had spent the last 5 years helping saving others from similar situations he still thought he was t worthy of Aurora love ,I was so happy when she realised her feelings for him.

Everything about this story was intense. The backstory, the action, the chemistry, the spice, even the characters.

Alexei has always intrigued me and I loved getting to know him better.

I understood Alexei's worry about doing certain things. His life growing up wasn't normal. It was dark and experiences that should have meaning are nothing more than corrupted and tainted moments he wishes to forget. Having to break out of that mentality isnt easy. Add in Aurora making him want things he's never wanted, feel something he's never felt, it's clear as to why it's harder for him to let go.

At times Aurora bothered me. She is this fierce FBI agent and doesn't take anything from anyone but so willingly bends to her brothers. I would have liked her even more if she stood up to them more. She's a grown woman, an FBI agent and they treat her like a child. Yes, something happened when she was five, but to treat her the way they do, annoyed me. She doesn't talk to them for a hour and they go on a man hunt for her.

Truths are revealed and it takes some time for them to be accepted. The ending feels a little rushed after the buildup through out the story.

This story took me a while to get into. It was a little slow at times and repetitive at points. (The prologue was in chapter 18) It sets the story for Raphaels book early on and it's going to be interesting to see how his story unfolds

"Maybe the two of us were like the sun and moon, always passing each other, but never actually meant to be together."

I'm totally loving this series and I'm glad to say that each one is getting better and better! It has violence, darkness, lots of action, a sexy boss bitch of a special agent heroine and a tortured, closed off, brooding but protective and possesive hero who could go any lengths to correct his mistakes and keep his woman safe. Aurora was smart, strong and sassy but somehow she became even more fierce when Alexei came along. As much as he wanted to protect her, she was willing to do the same for him. Alexei had such a good heart, I just couldn't fathom all the pain he must've went through. I couldn't get enough of them together! Aurora bought out his mortal side, made him feel comfortable and eased him up. Overall, I enjoyed the story, it was intense, painful and drew out all the right emotions. I felt for the main characters as well as the side characters. I also loved the dynamic that Aurora developed with Alexei's brothers. Whenever the main characters of the other books in the series made an appearance, I was so excited to see them interact with Aurora! If you haven't started this series yet, you should really pick it up if a closed off tortured hero who doesn't like being touched but softens up to his love interest has you swooning!

«In the short time i'd know her, i felt the urge to smile more than i did in allí my Life.»

Puede que haya sido el más psicópata hasta el momento? Puede que, incluso siendo así, me haya gustado más que el resto? Puede.

I loved this series! And I love Alexei. There's something about this character that I really like so I've been anxiously waiting for this book. Aurora is great too, I love that she doesn't take any nonsense from any of the dangerous men within this group or her brothers. I'm really excited for Raphael's book!

Listen his book is dark. He had a rough upbringing, but you know about that if you've read The Den of Sin. That's where he was first introduced and we get little snippets of him throughout the Belles & Mobsters series. So all that to say check your triggers because his flashbacks can be dark.

Aurora Ashford is an FBI agent working in New Orleans, she's investigating the disappearances of young boys who all look similar, blonde and blue-eyed. These kidnappings remind her of when her brother was taken. So she's obsessed with solving this case.

Alexei and his brothers decide it's in their best interest to work with the FBI to find the man responsible for kidnapping little boys in the area. Alexei knows Aurora from the past not that he's sharing that information with his brothers or Aurora.

He's sure she'll remember him and hate him when she realizes his involvement in her brother's kidnapping. But what really throws her is that she'll have to work with these criminals. Pretty soon they are forced to trust one another as they navigate situations that leave them vulnerable and exposed to the very bad men they seek.

Thank you so much to the author and Greys for this ARC to review.
