Predictable, bordering on ridiculous. A good listen if you want to constantly go “Wow, who could have guessed”

It was a pretty slow burn story which I felt was rather draggy but I think after I got to the 40 or 50% mark things started to pick up and that’s when I actually managed to sit down and read it through.

As Saffy struggles to understand what is happening the phone screen changes:

Unfortunately this one falls flat. If you're picking this book up because you're interested in the deleted message premise... Don't bother, it's only referenced again once very briefly at the end.

This book took me way longer to read than it should have, due to the unnecessarily long and descriptive chapters about nothing at all, and the fact that every single character is plainly unlikable. Add that to the fact that half the stuff in the book absolutely would never happen in reality, it was tough to get through. I only finished because I can't leave a book unfinished, and I thought it might have had a good twist (it doesn't).

Every plot twist could be seen from miles away. The author tries to incorporate red herrings so you suspect other people but it's very clear who the culprit will be considering there are constant seemingly pointless flashbacks to their school days throughout the book.

The main thing about this book I didn't like is that everything is very cloak and dagger, referencing events the reader doesn't know about, but it goes on for waaaaay too long until the actual story is told right at the end of the book. It was dragged out that much that honestly by the time we find out the stories, I couldn't give a sh*t!

I don't think I have read another book by this author and I wouldn't be opposed to trying a second one but if her writing style is the same as this one then I don't think i'd bother again.

British people have weird names. also this was boring.
