This was a great little mystery/case in a short story but not too short with some twists that keep your attention and wondering who did it. It is definitely building the world as each one goes as well but it can be read as a standalone. Looking forward to the next one.

This is my second book in the Widow's island series and it seems that I'm still liking it. The story is not that big of a deal but there is something warm and nice about the series and the writing style that keeping me hooked.
Also, I loved how the author built the romantic relationship between Logan and Tessa in this book(it's similar to Cate and Henry in the first Part).

Overall, this read was nice but honestly I loved the first part better and I had the expectation that Sam's murder will be investigated more in this book, but it didn't happen and it made me a bit disappointed.
I guess I will wait to read the third part to know about that.

I loved the suspense in this novella, and I loved how Tessa kicked butt in this book too. Melinda always writes some kick-butt heroines in her stories.
