Princess Adrienne teams up with the dragon her parents found to guard her tower as she awaits a knight in shining armor to rescue her, in order to rescue herself. The two set off on a quest to rescue her sisters as well too and dispel as many of the princess cliches along the way as possible.
I really like the design of the story and the way the author takes every opportunity to make this story different. There are thoughtful panels in which Adrienne brings sexist stereotypes to the reader's focus which serves to make the reader really think about how what they are reading is purposefully different in an impacting way.
That being said, the dialogue is snappy, the action is exciting, and the artwork is top-notch; this series will not disappoint.
Highly recommended for readers grades 3-5, especially girls.

This is definitely geared toward the younger crowd but it's fun for all ages.
I loved this! I love the questioning of all the princess stereotypes and Women Warrior tropes.

Delightful indeed. I hope many teens are reading as they are the target audience, but fun and interesting for all ages. As usual with me and graphic novels, I need a bunch in one gulp.

A very fun romp that I want to share with all my niblings. Looking forward to more.
THIS SERIES IS AWESOME!!!!
Side note though: I don't know if it was just the copy I read, but the printing bled off the edges of the pages (either that or it was just cut too small) and the design/placement/ordering of the speech bubbles wasn't always clear so it was hard to read them in the right order.
But besides the design elements, this series is smart and punny and feminist and diverse and generally fantastic! I highly recommend it!

The central concept is like, “yay! Finally!” But otherwise this reads like sexist jokes about sexism—like a meta-summary of sexism tropes. It does a good job, there just isn’t much there. And the alternatives it presents felt too limiting to me. I would instead recommend Tamora Pierce, Patricia Wrede, Robin McKinley, etc...
The art is adorable and I love the protagonist and main message. At times the dialogue was awkward and I wasn't crazy about the characterization of the brother.
