3.5⭐️
i won't even lie, i started this and was like what. now why would this be good☺️ but then i found myself gripping the edge of my seat like no! she can't just move on from him! y'all are meant to be!!! that cute moment you just want to strangle the characters in a little tree cutout and force them to have their HEA
i definitely think this was only 3.5⭐️ for me because it was a novella and i needed to read the rest of the series (which i still haven't) like if you truly wanted to rate this, it feels best fit once all stories from runaway are locked up and shut yk. i will definitely be continuing in the near future but i loved this for what it was. nothing puts me in a good chokehold like devney perry's small-town romances with rugged me i just wanna eat

Runaway Road is a cute, fast-paced romance that I enjoyed and was able to read in one sitting.

Tropes/content: Small town romance, single dad, stranded, road trip, found family
Series: Runaway #1
⚠️Check triggers⚠️
After her divorce is finalized, Londyn McCormack decides to go on a roadtrip to find an old friend she lived with as a runaway. Along the way, she gets stranded in a small town after her car breaks down. Enter Brooks Cohen, the local mechanic, who helps fix her car. He's attracted to her from the moment they meet, but keeps it to himself when he learns she's just passing through. But when it takes longer than they expected to fix her car, they spend more time together and sparks fly. Londyn must decide if she wants to runaway again or take a risk for love.
Devney Perry can do no wrong. I loved these two so much. They were so cute together. I love that they both were instantly attracted to one another. I liked how much their budding relationship felt like a first time in love/young love with how happy they were around one another. Brooks was perfect. He understood that Londyn needed to figure out what she wanted, even if that meant leaving him. He didn't push her or try to convince her she was making the wrong choice. The epilogue made my heart happy. I was happy to see Londyn feel settled and at home.
