Gorgeously illustrated stories of King Arthur and his knights, told in a stately, noble style effectively employing archaic language. Utterly charming and wonderful.

This book is by Howard Pyle. I love the old-fashioned language he uses. It's challenging for the kids but still enjoyable. The knights he focused on were new to me. And the story of Arthur's relationship to his adopted brother Kay and his meeting and wooing of Guienevere were very different from other versions I've read or seen in movies. I kept imagining that it was the type of book Don Quixote would have read as he dreamed of becoming a knight errant.

Sean Bean is a great narrator and the story is a classic. This is very abridged and was a great intro to Camelot for my child.

I liked this condensed take of King Arthur and his nights. It was simplified for younger readers but still kept the integrity of the stories. It was a quick read that gives some insight into the many knights of King Arthur's round table.

I want Sean Bean to read me all medieval fantasy stories from now on. Also, this one was a trip down memory lane for me. I had a copy when I was little and reread it so much that the hardcover spine fell off. I still have it.

Couldn’t really get into the book. Maybe I wasn’t in the mood but I was expecting more and didn’t get it.

Then King Arthur said, "I think thou art very cruel." And the knight said, "I am not denying that."
