Belinda Missen is very much a name to check out :). The heroine was very well drawn, and, being myself from an artistic environment, I related a lot to her experiences... Here we had a character that was not only centering her story on romance, but on her friendships, work and family (her moments with her brother and stepmother come to mind as super cute). That being said... I had a liiiitle bit of an issue here... Only that there was so much about her romantic history with our guy (Kit) that I wanted to know more about... I feel like a fangirl desperate for an epilogue or deleted scenes... Kit seems like such a cute guy, (he reminded me a little of the hero from Wallbanger) and it felt like we spent more time with her ex boyfriend than him. I get it. Relationships are messy and life is messy and it is not always that straight to the point let's fall in love with the next guy. I liked the time that the author dedicated to heartbreak (the first 30% of the book she still hasn't talked a lot with Kit and is dealing with her stuff). But in the way that was approached, their relationship felt a little rushed in the sense that I was begging for something like please author I love your story give me moreee. Belinda Missen. You got a fan. Please send me deleted scenes of Kit cooking breakfast again. We had that kind of year :)

Accidentally in Love by Belinda Missen was such an adorable book! It follows Katharine, a 35 year old woman who quits her job and moves back home to start her own art gallery. Into the story comes Kit, a local artist who throws everything for a loop with his blunt and straightforward attitude.

At first, the story seems like it’s moving slowly. But later, I was glad that the author took her time with it and really fleshed out the introduction. It helps you get to know the characters a little better and the way their relationships work. They all have their ups and downs, and the story really focuses on their growth not just as individual people but also together.

Overall, this book was a cute read that I would recommend if you’re looking for a light and fluffy romance. It was fun and sweet, and ended on a very positive note!

“Every single thing we do is a risk. It just depends on how much we want it”

Note: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All of the opinions are my own and this did not affect my review in any way.

I requested this book from Netgalley because I was in the mood for a fun romantic comedy and after reading the blurb on this one, I was interested right away.

Accidentally in Love follows Katherine Patterson who after quitting her job and breaking up with the guy she though was the one, she decided to move back home and open up her own art gallery.

I really enjoyed this book, it was fun and easy to read and I was very intrigued with the whole art gallery aspect of it. In the beginning I had trouble with the main love interest, he seemed very rude and not at all charming, however, once we get to know him, I was immediately drawn to him. The banter between the two characters is amazing and I definitely laughed out loud several times while reading this.

The characters are very well developed and the writing is very easy to fly through. The book doesn’t not have common clichés or tropes which makes it even more enjoyable. Moreover, I really appreciated that the book didn’t just focus on the romantic relationship, it was very interesting to see Katie trying to open up her new business and getting a glimpse of the lives of so many characters, the romance was an aspect of the book but it was not the main plot of it (which in my opinion is great). Finally, the character growth of Kate and Kit is fantastic and very realistic, I loved how they both realized they weren’t perfect.

The reason I took one star was due to the toxic friendship portrayed in the book,
Spoiler the main character has a very toxic / demanding friend and even though Katie confronts her, the friend never ends up apologizing or admitting she was wrong and things just go back to normal.

Overall, this book is one of the best romantic-comedy book I have ever read and I totally recommend it if you are looking for a fast, fun and easy to read romance that has more than romance in the plot.

Thanks so much to the author, publisher and Netgalley for allowing me read and review this book.

*Special thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. This book is available tomorrow!!

I was skeptical at first that this was going to dive too deep into an art world that the average reader wouldn’t connect with but it managed to perfectly balance fine art with widespread appeal.

A fantastic journey of a mid-career professional making the ultimate pivot from a corporate setting to owning her own business and also taking control of relationships in her life, both platonic and romantic.

This was a feel good romance about second chances and getting out of your comfort zone. Definitely on the recommendation list for my friends and followers!

"Accidentally in Love" by Belinda Missen was a fun read. As a fan of chick lit and contemporary novels, this story would be in a top tier of what you could want in a book like that. While pretty predictable, it was a fun read, with great chemistry between Katherine and Kit. I like that the story didn't focus solely on their relationship, however, and kept it light and about her journey in finding what she truly wants from her life after leaving her job and taking a leap of faith into making a job happen for herself and starting a business.

The side characters are fun and have depth, and I found myself wanting to know more about each of them.

If you want a fun book, and something that will make you feel like chasing your own dreams, then look no further than this novel

This book was adorable and had me hooked from the very beginning! You can tell that Belinda Missen has done so much research into this book by the way she writes and how much description she went into about photography and art. Having done photography at A-levels and spending a lot of my free time in a darkroom developing photos, reading about Katharine’s own one had me reminiscing on my experiences and watching the images come to life.

Katharine and Kit are two very well written characters, both with their own individual flaws and situations that make them realistic and relatable. The banter between the two was perfect and I enjoyed reading their scenes together.

My only issue with this book is that I felt that the ending was rushed and I would have liked to have seen more about their life after and what decisions were made in regards to the gallery etc. I think if Missen had added just another chapter to wrap up loose ends then this would have been a five star review.

Overall, Accidentally in Love was a cute and fast-paced read packed with laugh-out-loud moments. With an amazing array of characters, this book is perfect for any romcom lovers out there!

Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for providing me with a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

After losing both her job and her boyfriend, Katharine moves back home to chase her dream: opening her own art gallery.

It turns out she ends up chasing more than that. Kit is an elusive artist, and he and Katharine can't stand each other. Even though she strongly dislikes him, she can't deny that his art is moving, and she wants him in her gallery.

This was such a sweet, slow burn romance that hit me in the feels multiple times. Katharine and Kit made my knees week and my heart melt.
