Torj the Bear Slayer…my man!!! 

I loveddd him and Wren. There was barely a slow burn but there was so much tension that made up for it. Took away a half star because I didn’t want it to end and I don’t want to wait for the next book

Feels like I was thrown into second book in the series. Romance was more just lust of characters for each other and the whole plot was centered on that. Would have loved a deeper exploration into dark academia itself and the world of alchemy. It felt like the author realised that they needed some actual plotline in the book and tried to pack it all in the last 20 pages.

This is now and officially my favorite book of Helen’s. Wren’s story and journey to being an alchemist at this elite academy was so much fun to read. I cannot wait for the next book!
