This book had me hooked from page 1. Having read legends of Thezmarr I'd met Torj and Wren but getting to know them better was great. The pining and longing were done so well, as was their character growth both individually and together. That ending was BRUTAL and I am already chomping at the bit for book 2!!!

Great blend of romance and fantasy with good writing. So glad I took the recommendation to read this. I probably should’ve read the OG series before, but oh well. I wasn’t really interested in reading 4 books, this one had the tropes I was interested in. I do think the gauntlet was way too fleeting. The ending depressed me lol. I’ll definitely be reading book 2.
