I felt this was a fun and solid refresher on a lot of good fiction writing tips and examples. While not the most exciting or different approach to teaching the content, this course does a great job at offering a very well-rounded variety of examples. I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to learn some writing fundamentals or needs a refresher.

There's a lot of really good stuff in here. I, however, wasn't really engaged until the last 6 lectures or so, where he started going over what ai considered to be "new material" or in other words, stuff I hadn't already learned.

I listened to this twice. There is a lot to think about here. Not just ideas for how to write better fiction, but also how to read fiction and analyze what you see.

I listened to this great series of lectures on Audible. Hynes covers all of the necessary aspects (and then some) of fiction writing, using both modern and classic examples from literature and film. They helped me immediately with my work in progress and no doubt will continue to influence my future fiction writing and editing. I am sure I will be revisiting these lectures time and time again.
