crazy entertaining book, definitely a good read when you don't want something heavy...loved it
Not sure it was because I was listening but it was hard to keep track of who was who throughout the book. Certain things were predictable but overall a fun listen.
This was an absolutely ridiculous book. I had a lot of fun with it, though!
This is absolutely a book where you need to turn your brain off when you read it. Many things make absolutely no sense, the coincidences are large, and the characters are all outlandish.
But if you can accept that and get over it? This is a wild romp of a ride.
I laughed so many times while reading this book. Cranky Agnes might be my new favorite character. The family drama was popcorn-worthy. There were a ton of twists. The stakes kept getting higher. And the cast was just great. I adored the found-family!
Really my only complaint was that there were far too many characters. I could barely keep track of them. I swear, at one point halfway through the book, I stared at a paragraph for a good ten minutes trying to remember who everyone was. The cast could've been halved and I think I still would have said there were too many characters.
Otherwise, this was a silly fun time of a read. If you're in the mood for something that's utterly ridiculous, I'd recommend this one!

I went into this book thinking it would be a passable chick lit romp. Light - easy - kinda boring.
I was WRONG. This book was pretty amazing, really. The characters are great, there's humor...the mob...people getting killed and some pretty steamy bedroom scenes. I kind of loved it.

This book was just okay for me. It was a cute little romcom, but the story line was hard to follow. The details got confusing and I kept getting lost in them. Some other details or events were just too predictable. Overall a cute read, but not at the top of my list.
I loved it, but this book is not for everyone
I hadn't read one of Crusie's books in a long time so I had forgotten what they are like: Fairly explicit sex, love at first sight (boink?) and a goodly share of violence. Her books aren't for a lot of people, but those who are comfortable reading them are in for a lot of fun.

It's hard to find a category for this book, but 'romantic caper' probably fits the bill. I was very improbable in spots, and I actually preferred Mayer's hero to Crusie's insecure heroine, but the characters were well fleshed out, the action scenes were fun, and at time, it was pretty funny.
