I stumbled upon this book on KU, and it was just a really good little mermaid retelling that had lots of spice. I thought the writing was good. I liked the fantasy elements and the plot (firstly that there was a plot and that it wasn't just all spice), and I liked the differences the author added between the original story and this version, like the Sea Witch, but much more.
The world building was detailed and I liked that the author raised things like the differences in hair texture in and out of the water and how Averil (Ariel) had trouble sleeping in a bed on the surface given the lack of motion/movement. For me, those sorts of things were just that extra level of detail that I thought was surprisingly unexpected and definitely improved the story. What a magical fun read.

Cute! A lot better than I was expecting, plot wise. Definitely a little too long. Felt myself skimming towards the end to get to the “good stuff” but I loved the story and the two MCs.

This book really pulled me in, the tension between MCs was so hot I enjoyed watching them come together. He is so sweet and romantic for her and monster to others, Zoltan is my favorite MMC ❤️🔥

Not bad! The beginning was slow but once we were rolling, we were rolling. Probably 50 pages too long. Amazing that she was able to make me hate Prince Eric 👀

Deliciously spicy and a fantastic story! Honestly I can't think of words right now but Rebecca has easily become one of my favorite authors. This is the 4th book of hers I've read and it might just be my favorite..

This was a lot spicier than the ones I've read before that. I enjoyed it, I especially liked the second half of the book. It was a nice adventure under the sea and on land
