Lots of smut, if you like this look (think Sholto). I enjoyed it more at the beginning, but for some reason didn’t enjoy as much once they’d consummated (the last 1/4 of the book was too much smut for me).

Listen, I read fanfiction and Romantasy. I'm not a stranger to heavy, explicit content and this wasn't over the top, but GOOD LORD it was horny. 🤣

I was pleasantly surprised by the retelling's twists and turns. I appreciated that Averil wasn't just a complete airhead and the extended cast added complexity.

I'm excited to try more of this author's works.
