I was wondering whether I should give this one 4 or 3 stars, but I ended up giving it 4 because of the setting and the amazing discussions revolving around time. But the fact the plot is tied to a useless teenage romance, with an insufferable, spoiled and whiny brat-agonist, took away much of my enjoyment.
SpoilerIn the end, I still had hopes the character would finally be ridiculed and abandoned, but then came Noÿs's revelation, and she confessed loving the guy zzzzzz. The guy has his tantrums literally to the third to last page! The whole book we see him yelling "I'm right, admit it", and the idiot was always wrong. What a bore!

The connections to our reality and to the Galactice Empire in the end were also very cool.

This is definitely the best time travel book I've ever read, definitely up there for one of the best scifi books period. Wow.

I recently watched the TV series Dark and looked for suggestions on books with a similar plot. This was a recommended suggestion.

I initially thought it may be the wooden type of Sci-fi, where the writing is dry and any type of plot or intrigue is very much secondary to the science. I was pleasantly surprised to find that wasn't the case.

I really enjoyed how time travel was portrayed. The concept of adjusting earlier times is very intriguing, and while sometimes confusing, on the whole it was very well explained.

Character wise I found them all interesting and well written enough. I liked the main character, as he was written either intentionally or unintentionally as a bit of a petulant whiner, and I felt it worked well as he was literally a man out of time.

I enjoyed this overall, it was a quick, fun and interesting read.

My very first Isaac Asimov book! I had a lot of fun with this. The concept was well thought out and cool, ludicrous time travel sci fi done really well. Harlan the Mc was a good protagonist that was quite easy to follow and root for.

Although there are some heavy stereotypical choices made by Asimov, overall it was a nice fun read that won’t go amiss with anyone looking for an interesting and engaging sci fi book 👍🏽
