Gotta love that M. Night Shyamalan twist.

Considered by many to be Isaac Asimov's (Foundation Series and Robot series and others) best book, and I think I agree. In addition, in my opinion it may be the best time travel book ever written. Extremely interesting, even fascinating story about the creation of time travbel and it's eventual consequences for mankind.

Many people (in the reviews) seemed to claim this book "sexist." If you have heard this, please let it be known that I for one thought it rather women empowering... and not sexist in the least. Both men and women had their strengths and weaknesses. And in the end, both genders won out as the two main characters made their own informed decisions. - 2016

Sci-Fi has never been my cup of tea. It still is not. I am willing to say that this is a good book. Asimov, obviously, had a brilliant mind. However, I found the time travel concepts hard to wrap my mind around, and the characters a little flat. I expect to connect with at least one character in a story, and there was nothing to connect with here. The "hero," if you will, is self-centric and a little off-putting. His (boring) love interest aside, everyone else is viewed more or less as a villain. The only truly interesting character is Senior Computer Twissel. I think a book about Twissel would have been more captivating.

In short: I was bored. But I always try something new more than once, so I plan to give Asimov's robot series a go.

Fantastic piece of scifi, spellbinding and a thoroughly rewarding read.

It has been some time since I had read an Asimov book, and rather than look to reread Foundation I decided to read one of his standalone novels (PS - Best new XMAS tradition - thank you to my wife for buying this for our XMAS Eve reading).

Like alot of older sci-fi, some of the characterisations are not necessarily congruent with modern times, but this story highlights some excellent time travel conundrums. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, and thinking about some different time travel perspectives.

Always a great pleasure to read a well thought and well planned work of science fiction.
