This was so weird (not in a good way). It wasn't claiming to be amazing, it was super short but in general it was quite 'meh' and the ending was especially odd. Wouldn't have picked it up if I hadn't got it in an advent calendar: if you get given it you might as well give it a go but I wouldn't recommend. Bonus points for it being an easy first read for the 2022 reading challenge.

This was a fun, weird and easy read.
Just what I needed after the last book I finished.

But I didn't really get it

This book is SO wacky I loved it! It was really funny too and the length was perfect. It made a nice easy read, I love Meg Rosoff so much but it was also nice to get a slightly lighter style of story from her.

Meg Rosoff was an author whose weird surreal stories defined so much of my teenage years. Moose Baby (or Vamoose, as it is sometimes known) is another weird one, but it was also one I missed at the time.

Revisiting Rosoff’s writing made me really nostalgic, and I just love how she can make you care about anyone or anything - even a teenage girl who has inexplicably given birth to a moose. I was partly reading this story thinking “this is absurd” but also partly hoping that it would all work out for everyone in the end.
