¿Si le doy 5 estrellas na más porque amo a the Darkling es justo? Porque esta pequeña historia en serio que me hizo amarlo más, perdón.
13 junio: darkling te amo, siempre te amare, nadie te ama mas que yo

the book is just as painful as I remember it to be. it gives us so much insight on why the darkling is the way he is. I cry every time I think of how he and baghra were once close because they only had each other to care for. they were each other's family until the world's cruelty resulted in their end. they deserved better. the world is a cruel place as they say in attack on titan

This poor boy was brought up in fear and no place to call home. I wanted more.
This serves as nothing more than much needed motivation for the Darkling but man does it hit hard. It's hard not to feel bad and even understand why the Darkling turned out the way he did. Such sadness for such a small side story.
This was an interesting short story about a very complex character that I couldn't help but like throughout it all.
Can't wait to read the rest of the short stories.....and then I'll probably have to re-read the whole series. Definitely recommend this series and author to one and all!

A story of the time the darkling was a little kid.
I don’t know if I’m supposed to feel for him, cause honestly? THE RED FLAGS WERE ALREADY THERE.
And still I can’t forget him for being such a stupid, useless villain.
But it was captured lively and the writing was chef’s kiss as always. So 4 stars it is.

This is a nice short story that gives you a little more insight into the Darkling's complicated past. I enjoyed reading it because I always love complex villains, and this gives you one more layer to the Darkling's story. I wouldn't say it's necessary to read it in order to fully enjoy the Grishaverse, but it's a good addition for those that want as much material as possible.
This was great. First, I love that they are including these at the end of each book in the series. Second, this is a great way to provide depth to the world. A little backstory for some major characters, a little world building, and a lot of growth for some characters to see what they once were and compare it to what you know they become later. This is a core memory for the Darkling in my mind. This shaped him in a critical way that set him on a path to who we see in the trilogy. If Leigh Bardugo has more stuff like the The Demon in the Wood up her sleeve than I think I'm going to be hyped for the other works in the Grishaverse.
