nothing important. i just enjoy leigh’s writing, still brilliant even with this short prequel.

Super quick read and it gives a little bit of a back story on the Darkling

The Darkling was hands-down the best part of this series, with an overwhelmingly fascinating presence-- Of course I loved this prequel story!

Still salty about [b:Ruin and Rising|14061957|Ruin and Rising (Shadow and Bone, #3)|Leigh Bardugo|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1392398530s/14061957.jpg|19699754] tho and probably will be until I die

I know it’s a novella but still it’s just not enough. I believe this character has a huge potential even if he is not alive anymore. I hope the author will give us more glimpses into his past.

Apparently, the key to me reading and enjoying these short stories is to read them one at a time.

An interesting look into the origins of the Darkling.

It makes me so sad

any darkling content is top tier content! i loved the little backstory given.

I liked this insight into how the Darkling became the Darkling, it makes him more human, more likable. When he was born, when he grew up, it really was a different world for Grisha. You learn why he so desperately wanted a safe haven for those who were outcasts, who only ever wanted a home where they truly belonged.

Not me feeling bad for the Darkling
