By far the best story in this universe! Such great characters and great motivation for each of them.
medium-paced
I have found the perfect song for darkling. It's called outrunning karma by Alec Benjamin.
And for alina and darkling lovely by Billie Eilish and Khalid.

(Disclaimer: Please don't hate me because I don't love The Darkling okay! I swear it's just my opinion)
Yeah....so this book didn't make me pity The Darkling at all to be honest. I can see how his life would be incredibly lonely due to what was told to us in this book although I still stand by everything I said in the Grisha trilogy reviews. He's a bad person but he's an awesome character, and I was expecting a LOT worse considering a lot of people said this story made you feel bad for him.
It really didn't change my mind considering the heinous things he did to others in the grisha trilogy (and please don't comment in an attempt to change my mind!I love his concept and character dynamic and it's a personal opinion that I'm aware many others don't agree on).
I was hoping for a bit more backstory and maybe more understanding of The Darkling's acts in the trilogy itself, though it was a quick and simple read. Didn't seem incredibly necessary considering I figured how lonely he was by the end of the main series so this simply clarified that.

Obviously, I would love a Darkling prequel story. But it was SO good. You get to see more with the Darkling and Baghra, and it broke my heart in the best way.

Gorgeous art + a character with my name + backstory. Great graphic novel
