I hated this book. I kept reading because I was waiting to see what it was really about. But nothing. No mystery, just plain human evileness everywhere in a closed world within a metro system.
Edit: After reading this book I have not been able to move on. I keep thinking of the book constantly, and I believe it is because it is so vocal in the raw and unfiltered descriptions of evil, fear, hunger for survival. Therefore I changed my rating.

i didn't particularly enjoy the writing, though it had its moments here and there
it was very hard to read for longer than 10 minutes because i would start daydreaming and read a couple of pages without actually reading them
still, i was very intrigued by the plot, so i pressed on, and i think it was worth it, i really liked dmitry's exploration of the metro society and its parallels with the real world and i especially liked the ending
now, if you'll excuse me, i have a let's play to watch

A big journey to take, and one that took me ages to read. Lots of similarities to the games which was cool, and there were many interesting encounters on the way. Worth a read if you have time.
