Loved the atmosphere, mystery, surprise contained within. A little bit steampunk (clockwork octopus) and a little bit "Time Traveler's Wife."
Engaging, fun plot, interesting characters, elements of whimsy. A slow start and some confusing writing, but I'm so happy that the book is, in fact, a romance.
I think this is probably a good story, just not my kind of story. Or maybe I'm just not in the right mood. Seems like a slow burn, political intrigue type. I find my mind wandering to the extent that I'm loosing the plot. Time to DNF.
