DID NOT FINISH: 71%

I have to DNF at 71% 😭 This book is 200 pages too long and yet they got together too soon. He took grumpy-asshole-cowboy-but-thinks-she's-hot way too far in the beginning, especially towards someone who is obviously not ok. Both of them had way more healing to do before the whole friends with benefits situation could be deemed ok. Also, if bracelets clinking around is startling the horses and making them rear up and put people in danger, you and your training are the problem, not the girl.

ARC review

This baby had me in my feels alright.

Ford, the man that you are. Selfless, caring, protective, HOT, loyal…I could go all day. He really was such a well rounded character with his ups and downs; but always thinking about her, Reese, his birdie.

Reese’s character was, honestly, a reflection of myself sometimes. She had me feeling and living this thing with her, to the point I was crying when the end came.

This love story is so beautiful, the growth and the family are so important and you can see how much care Ava put into telling these important topics so that they were treated with the care they deserve.

So if you are reading this, I’m sure (or I hope) that they have told you recently, but either way, I’m proud of you, for living, for surviving, for being alive. And I’m thankful that you are here, even if we haven’t met, you are worthy.

Ava, thank you for this story and I’m proud of you (and you should be too)!

This book is my favorite book so far in the series. Ford, the man that he is!! Good lord, he had me swooning and kicking my feet like a lovesick schoolgirl.

Was Ford a bit of an a-hole in the beginning? Yes, yes he was. but I still, for reasons I simply cannot explain, found him charming and sexy. we can unpack that later. And whenever he put his baseball cap on backwards, shouts into the void, I combusted. Anytime a MMC in a book does that, instantly swooning. It's my kryptonite.

Reese, I loved her from the start. I love that one day she said "fuck this," and just ran because everything was becoming too much for her. I found myself relating to some of the feelings she would have. This book did have me choking back a sob on occasion because of the heavy topics it discusses.

Ford and Reese were so amazing together and their banter was my favorite. I love that they eventually broke down each others walls and allowed themselves to truly love each other. It was wonderful.
