I absolutely LOVED Ford & Reese’s story. I love all the Runaway Ranch books, and this one was just as amazing as the rest! Ava Hunter always manages to put pieces of her readers in characters, and every-time I pickup a book, there’s always something I needed to hear in that exact moment. I could not put this book down, and this is one of my top reads of the year! Reese brought me emotions of kinship, inspiration, and hope.

if only instagram would let me add their song to this post, “i cross my heart” by george strait, but “here comes the sun” seems fitting as well for these two. Reese & Ford’s romance is straight out of a country song, and I’m so happy I picked up this story.

“Bluebird”
“My birdie girl”

“And then I had to go and hug her—the best damn hug I’ve had in a long time.”

“He is everything rugged and untamed—the Rocky Mountains, rawhide, whiskey—wrapped up in one lean package of man.“

“Those.” I point to a stem of small blue bulbs. My throat bobs. “She’ll like those.” “Bluebells,” Ruby says, giving the stem a delicate sniff. Bluebells for my Bluebird. “They’re fairy flowers. They mean strength.” Her blue eyes flick to me. “Love.”

Thoughts

I WILL NEVER GET OVER THIS BOOK.
I loved it so much, the mental health rep is so so so good. I think that what Reese had to go through was exaggerated but I think it is something that happens so much with children who become famous. I think her breaking away and doing what she needs to survive is such a good story. The way Ford just accepts her for who she is and what her past was is so beautiful and her being able to trust herself to love Ford back. Tame the Heart will be so hard to top but this one came so so close to doing that. There were parts that had me in tears and there were parts that struck such deep cords with my own life.
