This series is honestly really good. I enjoyed Reese and Ford’s journey of self love and growth. Excited for Fallon and Wyatt’s book!

AHHHH, I LOVE ME SOME FORD MONTGOMERY.

Another great story of a resilient woman and a Montgomery Man down SO bad for her. Every book in this series just gets better and better. I love this mix of blood and found family, The Runaway Ranch, these morally gray cowboys and these strong af women.

My heart was in my throat during the thrilling climaxes of the story and it was in my stomach from swooning so hard at the blazing hot tension between Reese and Ford. Ava Hunter knows how to write a cowboy, this is a solidified FACT. The Montgomery brotherhood is one of my favorites, but the girlhood in this one also really had me gushing.

Ava Hunter takes you on a RIDE with her stories, I couldn't turn the page fast enough!

This group, this town and this series are IT.

"Birdie Girl, you're pretty much my goddamn everything."

- small town
- country singer FMC
- former MLB player turned cowboy MMC
- workplace (his family's ranch)
- age gap (he's 11 years older)
- he falls first
- no breakup
- 🌶️🌶️.5/5
- dual pov

I have to admit, this is my least fave of the series so far. I could be slumping, but it took me until about halfway to get into the story and warm up to the characters.

You have grumpy Ford, whose musician brother calls and asks him to look after Reese, the famous country singer. He clearly doesn't want her on the ranch and is kind of mean initially.

But he falls head over boots and becomes obsessed. Reese has had zero control over her life for 10 years, and she struggles to let Ford in when all he wants to do is care for her. But he patiently waits, showing her that he won't love her any less for showing him her broken pieces.

"I see you, Bluebird. Every version of you. Broken. Whole. Angry. Sad. I see you."

So, while there are some good moments (mostly Ford caring for Reese by organising therapy, setting an alarm for her pills, buying her presents for attending therapy... you get it!), it didn't quite live up to my expectations.
