I loved following the adventures of the bubbly and loveable Anne and her growing up in Green Gabels. She is very young when the book starts but it ends with her going to college, so a lot happens in the first book. She overcomes a lot of obstacles of her time. I would say this book is ahead of its time and a very enjoyable read.

Oh, how I adore this sweet little book! Anne might be my favorite literary character of all time.
