Such a visceral and gut wrenching read parts of this were so physically nauseating I needed to take a break. A true tragedy as the heroin at the beginning would promise the characters things that would never come to pass as their addictions deepened, the drug feels almost like another character because of this.
I had a hard time finding my way in the writing. It is such an important story and I'm glad that I've read it and know a bit more of the hard world Selby wrote about.
