Bone Gap is a modern day fairy tail. The themes of self-acceptance, overcoming adversity in the face of external and internal challenge, the power of love and loyalty, and much more are tied together in this lovely tale. The characters are archetypic while also being unique and modern. I didn't expect to enjoy this story, and I was pleasantly surprised.
Sort of a bizarre book with an interesting an unique premise.
Lovely, lovely book. Quite surprising, interesting and with well-done magical realism. My only quibble is a bit of a saggy middle with too much of a document dump -- but she recovers nicely and it's really a wonderful read.

Absolutely strange. I could have liked it more if the writing style wasn't so...unconventional. I had to stop myself from skipping to the end. But hey, it was worth the read.
3.5 stars. Half of me really liked this, half of me though it was complete nonsense. It didn't quite get all the way there for me, but I still thought it did SOMETHING.

This was a beautiful fairytale. It hurt my heart, and the best thing about it it that there were bees. I just love bees :')
