This one was just ok for me. I don't think I'll be continuing the series any time soon. Also, I am Team Kett for sure, although I wish Jade had gotten her jollies off with Desmond just once. I think that ship has sailed now, though.

Finally! Talk about building tension one slow crank at a time. There were a few times I was like “hurry!” But wow! The action is almost nonstop with this one.
***3.5***
I liked it, but... I'm a little put off by the relationship development. Or non-development, as it may be. These three books have been a pretty steady slow-burn towards a relationship with Desmond, even though there are obvious complications. But then in this book, he's barely present... But okay. When he comes into the story finally, things pick up where they left off, the slow burn finally getting where it's going. And then... I obviously don't know where the next book is going, but something about this just feels like it completely pulled the plug. In a baffling way.
So I liked it, but I didn't love it. I liked the overall resolution. I liked Drake. I liked that her relationship with her Gran and mom seems to be growing. I liked her father and most of the dragons. I like that she seems to be getting her shit together, a handle on her magic and a better understanding of the magical world.
I'm not going to comment on how 3 months of training with dragons apparently turned her into Kate Daniels with that sword, charging into a demon horde and lopping off heads left and right. La, la, not going to comment.
I'll be reading on though, because overall I like the series a lot. Just miffed on the romantic development.

Spoiler
She doesn't get to be mad that he killed Sienna. She killed dozens of people and was sentenced to die. She tortured Mory for months - a child! - and was going to kill her horribly. He's an Alpha. Bitch killed his pack members, including his Beta. She was going to die. I don't give a fuck if Jade doesn't like that - no one close to her was murdered by Sienna, and she doesn't get to judge what the people most victimized by her feel is justice. It makes her seem like a judgemental asshole. And a hypocrite, since she was going to kill Sienna herself. So I liked it, but I didn't love it. I liked the overall resolution. I liked Drake. I really enjoy this series. Jade is great. She is more powerful than she knows or wants and can kick ass. Yet she also struggles with feeling lost and vulnerable.
I am very happy with how the character development for Kett played out in this book and how Jade's interactions with Desmond played out. I am uncertain where book four and five will lead but look forward to finding out.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first but it's still good!

I loved this book, it picked up where the second stopped and had me hooked! The connections and emotional development of each character was already so solid and now we get an even closer look into their lives. I love the laugh out loud moments that catch me by surprise and esp. the deep desire and crave for chocolate, lol. This book was a much more emotional and personal journey for all the characters making it my fave of the three.
This is one of my favorite series and I hope that it continues.
