I want to start with the fact that this wasn’t a bad book, it was pretty interesting. But the thing is that I couldn’t get past a few things that happened to be main ones in the story.
First of all, Desi moved her entire life and activities because she liked a guy. WHY??? She could have done almost all the same way without it and, even if it wasn’t the case, it’s a bit pathetic. Besides, she’s a control freak and I understand that’s supposed to be part of her “essence” but somehow that doesn’t convince me at all. For God’s sake, she faked not one but several accidents in which she and Luca could have been badly injured, if not dead! That’s psychotic!
Secondly, Luca did seem to like her but didn’t do anything to show it, it was all Desi crawling for him, I mean in an excessive way, but still, show that you care!
Finally, one of the things that I just couldn’t get was that Desi skipped her Stanford interview (that she had been waiting to get in her whole life) because of an accident that wasn’t even that serious. I understand it involved the mother of her boyfriend, that he was worried and he didn’t know about the interview, but she did! That’s once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
To conclude, obviously my main problem with the book was that Desi had almost no self-esteem to the things that mattered. However, it was a good book to relax to.

This book is ridiculous and I enjoyed it; I feel like it captures some K drama vibes.

“I believed, and still believe, that you can build your dreams brick by brick. That you can accomplish anything with persistence.”

This was a cute book, and I thought it was interesting to see our main characters use K-dramas as a guide to find love. While it wasn't a new favorite for me in the contemporary genre, I still think it's a solid read and would be perfect for people who love contemporaries!

Just never captured me, and didn’t do anything interesting with the K dramas

As cheesy and cliché as this novel might be, it is now one of my favourites! It's just so cute, I need more from Desi and Lucas!

TOO CUTE FOR LIFE.

Desi is such a fun heroine, a perfect star for this rom-com delight of a novel. Maureen Go works in the kdrama tropes expertly, with a healthy sense of humour and honesty. I cannot wait for teens to have this book in the spring!

Initially, I was going to give it a higher rating because I honestly was enjoying the story a lot. I laughed out loud more often than I expected to and I loved how this rom-com is modeled after K-dramas. But when Desi STILL hadn’t learned her lesson by the 95% mark I couldn’t let it go and it significantly ruined the story and characters for me from then on, ending the book with a bittersweet feeling.

I love Maurene Goo so much! It's been my goal to read every single thing she's written! I've loved every single one of her books that she's put out!

This is probably my favorite one, it was so cute and fluffy and I can't get over it! This book has the cutest characters and I just fall in love with every single one of them!

I read this book in like one sitting and I just love how everything was so light hearted and I love how Desi, the main character was such an over achiever!

I thought it was so cute how she couldn't figure out how to ask this guy she liked out. The list of steps she did was adorable but my heart almost shattered when the boy found out. I mean it's a YA contemporary things are going to be predictable.

I'm a sucker for a good fluffy story like this, and this is def one of my favorites!
