This was such a fun story!
I’ve never watched a Korean drama, but this story made me want to watch one. The main character, Desi, is a perfectionist. She decides to get the guy she likes by following the steps that the main characters follow in Korean dramas. It was funny and sometimes dangerous, but always entertaining.
I fell in love with the characters. I found Desi so relatable because she had flaws and made mistakes. The story opens with her coughing phlegm right onto a cute guy, so I knew she would be entertaining. I also loved Luca. He was so sweet with Desi. The characters are important for a romantic comedy, and these ones were great!
I loved this story! I can’t wait to read more of Maurene’s books!

Hilarious and adorable!! Really liked that the main plot is based around K-Drama tropes, I just noticed that I can apply that list to most of the k-dramas I've seen lmao. Luca is one hell of a guy I adore him. And next to that THE DAD WAS AWESOME. I didn't think Wes and Fiona really added to the story. The friendship was on a low level and the romance was so important for the story that sometimes it seemed that they forget all the other aspects. Overall really fun to read especially if you are familiar with k-dramas. (Also, at the beginners guide at the end the also should add Cheese In the Trap, Page Turner, Scarlet Heart, W - Two Worlds &a Suspicious Partner. Just some of my faves lmao)
Main character goes a bit too far to stay firmly believable several times in this, but it’s a fast, enjoyable read.
I kinda dislike Desi because she tends to hurt people in order to get what she wants but her wholesome relationship with her dad makes me give this book 3 stars. I enjoy about navigating K-drama parts but I hate it when she tries to "copy" the steps within those series.
Great premise, bad execution. I am SO sad this book turned out to be a dud because I wanted to like it. And just when you think Desi learned from her mistakes…. She does something else stupid.

And Luca was a horrible boyfriend and an inconsistent character. One second he’s lovey dovey, the next he’s emo boy, the next he hates his father, then he’s fine with him…. Blegh. I liked nothing about him.
Desi was better (besides the K drama stuff). I liked her factoids and her craziness. I loved that she was smart and motivated!! But all the boy crap killed it for me and the interview too. Ugh.
I heard this is going to be a movie. I hope the movie is better. I hope they make Luca likable at least.

This was funny and cute. I've never watched a Kdrama but I thought it was hilarious how Desi used the plots as a way to get a guy. Even though all her antics started to stress me out after a while. Review to come.
