LOOOOOVE!

Gil is... Everything. It's so difficult to find demi representation in books so I was so excited to see his character and story in this book. Sarah didn't disappoint

Stopped reading when a supposedly ruthless mafia boss started going on about being “demisexual”. I mean come on. There’s suspending disbelief and then there’s utter nonsense

Its ok, Tyrant is better. I appreciate a strong silent type, but Gil is too far into the silence. Edric deserved more attention, but that may be just my love for the comedic supportive best friend.

Sarah Bailey can do no wrong. This book had me utterly obsessed. Gil and Theia are end goals but Gil's relationship with Edric was so adorable. I can't wait for the next novella!

Where do I even start?! Not only is Sarah’s writing amazing but the depth of her characters usually leaves me a giant mess-dealing with an even bigger amount of emotions. Gil and Theia were no different.

To say their story was a case of opposites attract doesn’t do it justice, it’s so much more. Yes they both come from completely different worlds but are both struggling and ultimately looking for the same thing. Trust, safety, and the opportunity to be their true selves. Gil struggles with any and all emotions. Even more so now that his brother, Zayn, has appointed him to head the mafia after the fall of their father. Gil questions his ability to be a leader and think for himself after being completely under his father’s thumb. Gil has a difficult time forming new relationships, especially romantic ones since he is demisexual.

Theia comes across as a strong, confident woman especially when she’s performing. But deep down she’s battling her past trauma and has a hard time trusting people outside of her comfort zone. Her work at the club allows her to take back her control and feed her hypersexuality. After several encounters with the mafia boss, Theia becomes intrigued by Gil. But he’s so hard to read, she doesn’t really know where she stands.

Seeing these two break past their barriers together was a beautiful thing. Theia finding safety with Gil and him being able to get out of his head with her. The way their love story unfolds, even in the midst of mafia chaos, and the acceptance they had for each other made their story so addictive. And also the mouth on this man saying things in Italian doesn’t hurt either.

This world is getting better and better! With every book, Sarah is able to weave a deep plot, filled with Easter eggs from other books and lots of spicy scenes!! The references to the Four Horsemen series are amazing but you don’t have to read that series to understand this book. Penn is still one of my favorites and I cannot wait until his book comes to light, his cameo made me laugh.

Gil and Theia are incredible, Gil was 110% in from the beginning once he realized he had feelings for Theia but he didn’t hold Theia back from doing what she loves. I think he edged Zayn out as my favorite Villetti and that was surprising. Theia is so strong and brave and one of the best FMC I’ve read this year!
