Ok, I confess I never read the submissive, so maybe that's why I was so confused during the dominant. I read some of the reviews and people said she did a better job with his story than hers. So I thought I could read it without book one. NOT! This wasn't the best job I've seen as far as bondage and discipline. He even said he blurred the lines and probably confused her. I thought it was pretty vanilla, mild spankings, very little tie ups, and anal does not really constitute a Dom. As far as his supposed stalking of her, what a joke, and it didn't' make a great plot. I didn't see what the big deal was. It's not like he intended to hurt her. She basically announced after he saved her family then she looked him up. I won this for free off goodreads and read it for free for netgalley.

Was kinda disappointed with this book, I felt like I was rereading the first book all over again just this time with his point of view. The only good part was towards the end when u actually understood his feelings towards abigail.

I like the first and the last better, but this was still good.

Interesting as I read this directly after reading the first one, so all the events were in the forefront of my mind. I think there were a few variances but it was good getting two viewpoints.

The Dominant is technically not a continuation of the series, but is the male POV of Book one " The Submissive" and I do wish that I had known that before reading book one as I would have read them together and I know that I would have enjoyed them way more. I am not a fan of two books being different POV unless I know beforehand and can read them side by side, but separately, it just doesn't do that much for me (this is just my personal preference, so if you love it when authors do this that bravo, I wish I could). I did find that there are much more details described in this book than in book one and I did enjoy seeing the mystery behind the hero, but after the ending of " The Submissive" I just wanted to continue with their story and not feel like I was doing a male version of a re read haha. So while I appreciate what the author delivered, I just wasn't in the correct mindset to enjoy it like I wanted or needed.

I did love to be able to get it from the Dom's POV but what I didn't really care for was it felt like it was the same book too much and I understand that it is the first book again in his POV but there only felt like a few moments that were different. I found myself skimming through a lot of it. I wanted to like it more than I ended up liking it which kind of sucked.

I did like getting some parts I was wondering "I wonder what is going on in his head" that I was able to get that. One of those parts was the candy bar part. I was also wondering what had happened between him and Tom. I mean we find out in the first book but I wanted to know exactly what was said. Another thing that I did like was the fact that we were able to know right off hand why he was the way he was with her. Once again we find this out in the first book but we know what he was thinking when he got the applications now because we got to see that part as well.

I am not usually a big fan of one book done in one POV then in another. It just feels too similar and like I had said above I find myself skimming through a lot of it because I remember what happened from the first book. I'm sure if maybe I had waited a year for this one but since I read it right when I finished the first I felt like it was repatitious. But if I waited a year it would probably have been a refresher on what had happened.

I am looking forward to the last book in the trilogy though. I want to see how he is when he is in true Dom form. We get to see parts of it in this and the first book but he seems to be holding back a little.

We will see where things go from here. :)

I think my problem was the fact I was wanted 3 books that told new stories, now I am all for a different POV but that's why we have joint POV's in books now. I guess I was disappointed by the lacklustre I felt for this book. The first book was so amazing (but I am particular to girl POV's more than Boy's)

Regardless Nathaniel definitely had some problems and we can see the reasons why in this book, but just like Christian Grey or other stories we read about our troubled men, I am glad to see that there is a reason for it.

Loved re-reading some of my favourite smut scenes.
