OH MY... I am completely blown away by this book! Let me start out by saying that I am an avid reader, I'm talking a book a day to two days, everyday. So, I'm not usually surprised by much and not that many books are really great to me, but this book knocked me off my seat... literally, at a certain point in the book, at two in the morning, I was off the couch pacing in my living room, crying like a crazy person. This book was so emotional and the author really made you love all of the characters. I keep writing things here and having to delete them because I don't want to spoil anything in any way, so let me just say... READ THIS BOOK!

I don’t normally leave written reviews, but I have such mixed emotions about this that I needed to explain. This was 5 stars until the halfway point. After that it went downhill for me. It stopped being realistic for me, and just felt like the author wasn’t sure how to wrap it up. I would have preferred this to be either a short and sweet love story or to have ended in tragedy, but the characters stopped being believable during and after the climax. After was a 1 start, so I’m splitting the difference. Wish I’d have stopped halfway through.

awful I hate everything about this book

This book is hard to read because it is so emotional. There is a part that is so heart-breaking, you don't even want to know what happens next. In the end, everybody ends up happy (of course), but it just doesn't turn out the way you think it will.

I first read "Taking Chances" a decade ago, and it completely wrecked me. This book evoked a spectrum of emotions that I didn't know I could feel. A few days ago, I decided to revisit this emotional rollercoaster in preparation for reading Stealing Chances. Remarkably, even after all these years, Taking Chances still wrecked me in ways I could never have imagined.

Molly McAdams masterfully weaves a tale that is both heart-wrenching and uplifting. The characters are so vividly drawn, and their experiences so profoundly real that I found myself deeply invested in their journeys. The emotional impact of their stories left me bawling my eyes out and sobbing like a child, a testament to the powerful storytelling.

Taking Chances remains one of my all-time favourite books. Its ability to touch the depths of my heart, both during my first read and my recent reread, speaks to its timelessness and emotional resonance. If you haven't yet experienced this book, I highly recommend it – just be prepared for the emotional ride of your life.

PS: I still won't forgive the author for killing my favourite character, although with the alternate universe of Stealing Chances, I might change my mind.

This is one of those books that I just have to keep reading over and over again. I think Brandon is one of my favorite male literary characters. He truly is the sweetest, and I wish more men were like him. And even though I've read the book multiple times, I still cry at the same parts.

Warning, this post has some SPOILERS.

Honestly, this was the biggest waste of two days I have ever spent. First of all, the main character Harper has clearly questionable judgement. She cheats on her boyfriend, gets pregnant, and then marries her boyfriend after the baby daddy gets killed. How convenient. She's turned into a heroine of sorts when in reality she's 19 years old with a child, doesn't graduate college or get any sort of job and lives off her husband.

I thought the book was over about 200 pages in. The remainder of the book is her and Brandon saying "I love you" and hundred times and getting naked. I actually forced myself to get through it.

If you want to read something good, I'd read Beautiful Disaster instead. At least that author can write.

The first half of this book was worth 6 or 7 stars!! 50% and it all turned to crap! Ill never read this again :-/
I have really tried to understand the reasoning behind the sudden plot change but for the life if me can't. I was so so so DISAPPOINTED. Killing off chase a main character. Then Harper getting married within 6 months to her ex while his family is all for it?? REALLY?? I just felt like screaming at them all IT'S NOT HIS BABY
