I hate every character in this book. Especially the kid and his dumb rabbit

Story was interesting but the situations Frankie put herself for the sake of Izzie were kind of annoying and the “twist” felt like it was just thrown in there at the end.

This book is the most extreme example of what it’s like to be an older sister and it is done in a great way. While seeing Frankie go to such extreme lengths to help her sister truly get closure was frustrating often, I think it helped depict how important Izzy’s wellbeing was to her. Overall the author did a good job at addressing several very real serious family dynamic issues in an amplified way. I think the very last chapter is what brought this whole book together for me since at that point I had completely forgotten the comment earlier in the book about how Izzy was the reason Frankie was a mom.

Didn’t dislike it but not sure how much I liked it.

Some things felt a bit of a reach—and times it was hard to like the MC, she often put herself in situations that just didn’t make sense.

Her relationship with her sister seemed toxic and at times felt a bit frustrating to “watch”; it was hard for me to really like either of them.

It started off really strong but ultimately it just didn’t vibe for me.

Blood is everything and Frankie will do whatever it takes to protect Izzy.

Frankie and Izzy are sisters where Frankie has always been the mother and protector for Izzy. Five years ago, after a party, one of Izzy's friends went missing and has been missing ever since. During that night, Frankie stepped up to help Izzy and kept a secret they never spoke about but Frankie has her suspicions.

Current day, Frankie's car is flagged as involved in an amber alert according to witnesses where Frankie feels Izzy is involved. This only pushes Frankie to determine what happened now and leads her to answers 5 years ago.

The book was a good read... another filler for me but not something that had me gripping at the edge of my seat.

I loved Heather Chavez's previous book, so I was really looking forward to this one. I was so disappointed though. The characters were not very likable, and they made decisions I couldn't relate to at all. I also thought the motivation of the killer was extremely weak. I will still give this author another chance since I liked No Bad Deed so much, but I certainly hope it's a lot better than this one.

I gave this three stars because it was a quick easy read, but didn’t rate it higher because I grew tired of main character Frankie, whose obsessive behavior towards her sister was irritating. Instead of simply talking with her sister, Frankie made assumptions and behaved irrationally in hopes of trying to help her. Instead she made matters worse. I also wondered why the author included a daughter for Frankie because she was primarily a non-factor in the story. I also agree with one of the other reviewers who asked about several additional storylines that seemed to go nowhere.

A good editor with tightened focus on main storyline would have improved this.
