I mean, it's a classic book, I don't know what else to say about it. It was decent and of course, a warning to what the US could easily fall into. Rights are already being taken away, books are being banned left, right, and center. Not really too many steps left to escalate to burning them

Set in the authorpocalypse, that deeply absurd spin on dystopia which has terrified writers from Huxley to DFW to Shteyngart. Bradbury doesn't seem to believe in his world all the way, though, and wastes a lot of pages re-convincing us. Character actions are melodramatic, contrived, or both. No one is likeable; wife is a shrieking harpy who draws from the most sexist 50's cliches. Prose would be the saving grace, as it can get good, but too often impales itself on hasty conceits.
I'm not sure if i liked this book or not. It was boring at some point but also interresting.

Fahrenheit 451 is an extremely impressive dystopian novella that has scarily predicted some of our modern-day practices and conformities down to a T. I'm sure everybody's tired of all the ties we've made between dystopian books and modern-day society, but it's noteworthy how the main element of this book, mass censorship, has been especially more normalized in the 2020s. Despite telling us what would be our future, the book is wonderfully written and enticing despite being only around 150 pages. Bradbury delivers a profound and disturbing view into how he saw the future of America and what would happen if the people weren't ready to conserve their books and protect their right of information. Beautiful character development, expertly-crafted story, clear and poetic prose; truly outstanding.
