Easily my favourite in The Thursday Murder Club series. The mystery had my mind constantly spinning as I tried to figure out who the killer was, and the final reveal completely caught me off guard.

The humour was off the scale - from
Ibrahim’s mission to become carbon neutral to the hilarious gifts like the Karma Sutra and psychopath test.
I also loved seeing Joyce take the lead instead of Elizabeth this time around.

What really stood out, though, was the incredible character development. The emotional depth in Elizabeth’s journey, particularly surrounding Stephen’s dementia
and eventual death
, was so well written - I found myself in tears at one point. I’m glad Stephen had such a significant role in this book and the previous one.

This book delivered everything I could have hoped for: humour, heart, and a gripping mystery.

I found this one difficult to follow; missing drugs, seemingly disjointed murders, weirdly placid Canadians, musings on mortality..? I listened to the audiobook version and couldn't quite keep with where the plot was going. Maybe because it relied on remembering some side characters and plot points of the previous books.

There's a lot of character moments here, so if you already love the Cooper's Chase gang you'll undoubtedly love it with all the ups and downs as some character arcs come full circle and others start to branch out.
