I laughed, I cried.... even though I found this latest book in the series a bit predictable as to the mystery, I just really loved the journey with all of the characters. Joyce's journal entries continue to be a delight. I wasn't a big fan of the previous book in the series. I felt like things seemed a bit disjointed and forced, but I'm back in now. I'm looking forward to the next Thursday Murder Club book.
I'm not going to lie, this one made me cry. A lot. Such beautiful characters and a long arc over the last few books sadly came to a close. I had to take a day off before I could finish it. This series was my favorite reading discovery of the year.

I've always loved Agatha Christie's novels. Not so much for the crime elements as for the vibes and sheer cozyness. Richard Osmans "Thursday Murder Club" novels give me very similar vibes. This fourth book in the series just as much as the previous ones.
The actual crime story, while entertaining, is never my main focus while reading these novels. I'm mainly here for the characters and inter-personal relationships. Particularly among the four pensioners Joyce, Elizabeth, Ron, and Ibrahim. Always good fun!

More british than the others? The monarchy stuff from joyce had me rolling my eyes severely but otherwise readable and fun. I knew Ibrahim was my favourite for a reason
